Leading Global provider of agricultural science and technology installs LiquidSky’s – ZERO LIQUID DISCHARGE system to achieve recycling of their wastewater for reuse and for water sustainability

In 2018, Syngenta, Bangladesh decided to take measures for water sustainability by reducing and reusing their wastewater. Their research to find appropriate technology led to LiquidSky leaders in Zero Liquid Discharge. Syngenta uses its expertise in plant breeding, crop protection and seed care to deliver solutions designed to bring plant potential to life. Sustainability is part of everything they do – from developing innovative products that help farmers grow more from less to controlling the impact of their operations. They are also committed to reducing the environmental footprint. A step towards that was to adopt to a ZERO LIQUID DISCHARGE system for their wastewater treatment.

To understand the requirements and to provide correct solution, we LiquidSky had to perform lab testing on the feed water to check and achieve all the required parameters. In the lab reports the parameters like COD, BOD, etc. were reduced by up to 98% yet they were not in compliance with the required parameter standards. We further carried out detailed testes like the Fenton method (helps reduce alcohol traces in the feed water) and use of Carbon filter to achieve the required parameters. During this process there was drastic reduction in COD from 53000 (feed water) to 146 (final distillate), BOD less than 30.

The Syngenta team once satisfied with the new lab reports and testing decided to go ahead with our VACUDEST® M 1500 vacuum distillation system. LiquidSky’s team completed the installation and commissioning and continues to support the system. The results, to date confirm the decision of opting for the sophisticated VACUDEST® vacuum distillation system. All of the promised values with regard to operating costs and the quality of the processed water are still been achieved.
